Hughes Road Transmission Replacement and Litton Road Extension
The Hughes Road Transmission Replacement and Litton Road Extension project is a significant undertaking that will bring about several benefits for the community. The first portion of the project involves replacing 1,240 feet of existing 20-inch diameter steel pipe within Hughes Road. This pipe, which is over 55 years old, has had numerous leaks and is at the end of its useful life. The pipe is a transmission main critical for providing downstream flows to the system. As part of the project, a portion of the water system connected to a six-inch water line will be eliminated by connecting existing services to the new 20-inch main. The second portion of the project is to extend and connect two ends of the District’s water system, a 600-foot long, 10-inch diameter pipe connecting the Litton Road pipe segment to the one ending to the southwest on private properties. This second pipe will enhance the District’s water system by creating a loop for flow. The project will provide better operational service for treated water customers, ensuring a more reliable and efficient water supply for the community.
The project is currently in the design phase.
