Lake Wildwood Treatment Plant Replacement Project
Lake Wildwood is currently served by an existing water treatment plant (WTP) that is the sole supply of drinking water to the community. The WTP, while close to 40 years old, has historically met the water demands in the system; however, during peak demand periods the plant has been required to operate close to the maximum capacity, leaving little spare capacity for any future system growth or operational redundancy.
In 2016 and 2017 the District hired a consultant to review alternatives for replacing the treatment plant, refurbishment of the existing plant, and providing an alternative treated water source via interconnection.
The District has determined that a replacement of the WTP is the most viable alternative.
