NID Board to Receive Water Planning Data at August 26th Meeting – Public Invited to Attend Via Zoom
August 25, 2020
(Grass Valley, CA August 24, 2020) – The Nevada Irrigation District Board of Directors will receive a presentation on NID’s updated Water Planning Data at its Wednesday, August 26 meeting. The Water Planning Data consist of three studies that help NID determine if its water storage and delivery system will provide sufficient water to meet customer demands over time and under variable conditions.
The Water Planning Data are used by the District to prepare a number of planning reports such as the Urban Water Management Plan and the Agricultural Management Plan, both required by the State of California to be updated and submitted every five years. The information will also be used to prepare the District’s Plan for Water, and is considered when making decisions about capital improvements to its water delivery system. New requirements by the Federal Energy Regulatory Commission will impact NID’s water supply and, together with other state requirements, drive the need for the District to update its Water Planning Data.
NID welcomes public questions and comments on the Water Planning Data. Additional information, including the Technical Memorandums associated with each study, will be posted on the District’s website before close of business on Thursday, August 27. Questions and comments should be submitted to the District by October 9, 2020 to info@nidwater.com or by mail to: Attention Water Planning Data. Responses to issues raised will be delivered at a Board Meeting on or about October 26, 2020.
