Scotts Flat Lake trail will be closed Monday - Wednesday for fire fuels reduction work
Notice: The Scotts Flat Lake trail between Gates 1 and 2 will be closed Monday through Wednesday, May 24 – 26, for continued fire fuels reduction treatment. This will involve thinning trees and removing underbrush.
This work is part of Nevada Irrigation District’s (NID) ongoing efforts to protect the watersheds in the District’s care. The forest management projects include fire hazard mitigation and hazard tree removal, forest community improvement, as well as habitat restoration.
The Scotts Flat treatment is a collaborative effort with Sierra Conservancy and CalFire to reduce the density of the forested area on and around NID land.
