Environmental Compliance Documents
The Proposed Centennial Water Supply Project must comply with the requirements of the California Environmental Quality Act (CEQA), which requires that the environmental impacts of a proposed project be disclosed to the public for consideration if the project is carried out by a public agency such as NID.
The Environmental Impact Report (EIR) for the proposed project will identify all potential impacts and propose clear mitgation measures. The public will have several opportunities to participate and provide valuable comments regarding the proposed project and the EIR.
NID prepared a Notice of Preparation of an EIR that was released in February 2016, and held two public scoping meetings in March 2016, to present information about the proposed project, and to listen to the public's views on a range of issues related to the scope and content of the EIR.
Once the Draft EIR is out for public review, additional public meetings will be held.
